About the Photos
In 2009 Gene Giancini was cleaning out a building on Scranton’s West Side. His family had operated a business in the building for 60 years, and he was in the process of selling it. He found, stacked in the corner, old photos of Christmas window displays from Household Outfitting Company, 306-314 Lackawanna Ave. Mr. Giancini generously donated the photos to the Albright Memorial Library. We will be presenting them through this web site.

- The Albright Memorial Building, the heart of the Scranton Public Library, is located at 500 Vine Street. It opened in 1893 and is adjacent to the Lackawanna County Children's Library. We also have a branch in the Green Ridge section of Scranton. The Scranton Public Library has a commitment to balancing the preservation of books, photographs, and other items pertaining to the history of the Scranton Area with making them accessible to everyone.
